This information can literally save hundreds of thousands of dollars in transportation costs per year.
TID provides real-world context for decision-makers addressing:
- Surface Access and Planning
- Vehicle Location and Routing
- Emergency Response Planning
- Well and Facility Location
- Pipeline Construction
- Well Site Remediation
- Network Analysis
- Project Planning & Logistics
- Asset Monitoring and Tracking
- Environmental Assessment
- Cartography

The GDM team, with its many years of combined data experience, has developed a database that not only captures valuable attribute data from many diverse sources but has also implemented a strict yet robust database model making the data easy to use and GIS ready. The Transportation Infrastructure Database has been compiled from many sources:
- IHS Historical Roads Database
- International Petrodata File Roads Database (IPL)
- Ensight Information Services Roads Database
- Public sources from the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments
- Private sources from contributing Energy Producers and Service Companies
IHS users familiar with the GDM monthly Pipeline and Facility Database updates will be pleased to learn that the Transportation Infrastructure Database will be updated on a similar schedule. GDM also seeks to work with companies that use our data products. In an effort to continue to provide customers with the most accurate and highest quality dataset, GDM welcomes client interaction and companies are encouraged to submit unique additions, edits, changes in ownership, or omissions directly to the dataset.
Ask your IHS representative to find out how your company can add your proprietary resource roads.
The Transportation Infrastructure Database is available in an IHS application best suited for your needs including:
